There are numerous shallow water ports on the Indian Coast. Due to the draft limitations, there is always a challenge to enhance the trade at these ports.

To run a port effectively there are various crafts which are required for day-to-day  operations.

To run a successful port we require an accurate balance of equipment’s to handle the  cargo.  

Extensive terminal or port cargo handling equipment’s are required to facilitate  movement of the cargo to and from the ship's side and the transit shed, warehouse,  barge, railway wagon or road vehicle.

A well-organized port requires periodic surveys to estimate the siltation caused and  the topography of the seabed. Further pre, interim and post dredging survey is  required to ensure the dredging operations are executed in a processed manner.  

These surveys are not restricted to ports and harbours but can be used for rivers, lakes, dams, channels and its approaches.

Dredging operations are critical operations to ensure Safety of the Channel and Safety of the vessels calling a port are maintained. Dredging involves creating a port / increasing the depth of the port thereby increasing the volume of cargo shipment / maintaining the depth to ensure vessels calling port maintain their under-keel clearance.
